Floyd A. Rheinheimer, 85, died early Wednesday morning, June 2, 2010, at Greencroft Healthcare. He was born May 31, 1925 in Middlebury to Clayton and Maude (Miller) Rheinheimer. He was a lifelong area resident wintering in Apache Junction, Arizona. A member of First Mennonite Church, Middlebury, he worked as a custodian and bus driver at Middlebury Schools until 1968 and later as a respiratory therapist, retiring from Goshen General Hospital. He was a World War II Navy veteran. On December 24, 1949 he married Katie Mae Miller in Middlebury. She preceded him in death on April 20, 1995. He is survived by two daughters, Shirley (Dale) Riegsecker and Linda (Mike) Young, both of Middlebury; three sons, Dennis (Terry) Rheinheimer of Middlebury, Floyd L. (Cindy) and Ron (Kristan) Rheinheimer both of Goshen; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; a sister Esther (Floyd) Hoover of Goshen; two brothers, Ivan Rheinheimer of Apache Junction, Arizona and Ernest Rheinheimer of Goshen. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Victoria Rheinheimer; two sisters, Pauline Schrock and Lois Blosser; and three brothers, Alfert, Maynard, and John Rheinheimer. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, Friday, June 4 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen and from 9:30 to 10:30 am, Saturday, June 5, at First Mennonite Church, Middlebury, where a 10:30 a.m. funeral service will be conducted. Pastor Linford Martin will officiate. Burial will follow in Gracelawn Cemetery, Middlebury. Memorials may be given to Goshen Care at Home Hospice, 200 High Park Ave., Goshen, IN 46526.
