Floyd C. Miller, 89, of New Paris, died Friday, December 14, 2018, at Goshen Hospital.

He was born April 17, 1929 in Waterford to Owen and Rosa (Cassel) Miller.

On October 19, 1947 he married Marie Rassi.  She died May 16, 2018.

Survivors include three children, Marsha Milliron of Goshen, Cindy (Gordon) Packer of New Paris and Douglas (Wanda) Woodring of Millersburg; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister, Jeanette Miller of Goshen; a brother, Terry (Virginia) Miller of New Paris and a brother-in-law, Robert Rumsey of Michigan City.

Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lois Rumsey.

A lifetime area resident, Mr. Miller enjoyed fishing and hunting in his younger years.  After retiring he and Marie enjoyed traveling, camping and wintering in Alabama, where they made many friends.  Family was an important part of Floyd’s life and he especially enjoyed doting on the great-grandchildren.

Floyd was a NIPSCO employee for more than 37 years and attended Brenneman Memorial Missionary Church.

Visitation will be Monday, December 17, 2018, from 4 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service on Tuesday, December 18, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to Brenneman Day Care Fund or Brenneman Memorial Missionary Church.
