Floyd Arthur Denham, 80, of Goshen, died unexpectedly early Wednesday morning, February 21, 2007, at Goshen General Hospital. He was born June 30, 1926, in Benton, Illinois, to Wilford and Myrtie (Carter) Benham. On June 30, 1945, he married Avis Cress in Goshen. She survives. Mr. Denham moved to the Goshen area when in the mid 1950’s. He was baptized at the Goshen Baptist Temple and has been affiliated with the New Paris Church of the Nazarene. He had worked for IXL Furniture Company and later for Richmond Wholesale. He had also worked for Martin’s Grocery at Bacon Hill Shopping Center for five years. Mr. Denham volunteered as a Red Coat at Goshen General Hospital for ten years and belonged to the Goshen General Hospital Auxiliary. He enjoyed volunteering and spending winters in Florida. He is survived by nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Claude Denham and three sisters, Rita Shaffer, Letha Cummins and Nora Boughers. Friends will be received 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, February 23, and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 24, 2007, funeral service will be held at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Rev. Don Miener of the New Paris Church of the Nazarene will officiate. Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be given to the New Paris Church of the Nazarene.
