Flossie Maloney, 96, of Goshen, died Thursday morning, April 25, 2013, at Greencroft Goshen Healthcare where she had been since 2009. She was born March 31, 1917 in Goshen to Seymour and Carje (Strayer) Cripe. She married John J. Maloney, August 2, 1942 in Goshen. He died January 12, 1996. She is survived by two sisters, Donna Yoder, Goshen and Betta Strahm Murdick, Berne; longtime friend from World War II, Marina Valet, Dumbea, New Caledonia; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Gladys Cripe, Agnes Economos and Adah Holdeman; and three brothers, Robert, Alfred and Henry Cripe. A 1934 graduate of Goshen High School, Mrs. Maloney graduated from International Business College Fort Wayne. She worked at Remington Rand Typewriters, J.L. Hudsons Department Store and The Lutheran School for the Deaf, all of Detroit. She was a member of Brenneman Memorial Missionary Church. Friends may call from 1 until the 3 p.m., funeral service on Monday, April 29, 2013, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Rev. Karl Yoder, nephew, and Rev. Russ Hunsberger, Brenneman Memorial Missionary Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in West Goshen Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Brenneman Memorial Missionary Church.
