Florence Opal Zehr Hershberger, 95, of Goshen, died on November 3 at 1:40 a.m.
She was born on August 15, 1926, at Manson, Iowa, to Alvin and Ruth (Lehman) Zehr.
On June 24, 1950, she married Roman E Hershberger.
She is survived by three daughters, Ruth Kliewer; Judith (Greg) Leigh; and Lori (Steve) Blair, one son, Craig Hershberger, four grandchildren, one step grandson, two great grandsons, two great granddaughters, and her sister Nelda Nussbaum.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Ruth Zehr, her husband, Roman, her sister Alice Newcomer, and daughter-in-law Shelley Hershberger.
She was a 1943 high school graduate of Hesston (Kansas) College and Bible School. She worked as a secretary in early years and later in Bethel Bookstore in Elkhart, Indiana. Florence had a lifelong love for books and reading, also for teaching Sunday and Bible classes. She was a Stephen minister and leader and enjoyed meeting with and encouraging others. She was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend to many.
Friends may call Saturday, November 13, 2021 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, where a 4 p.m. funeral service will be conducted. June Alliman Yoder, College Mennonite Church, will officiate.
Cremation will follow after the service.
