Florence Louise Yoder

Florence L. Yoder, 95, of Goshen, passed away Sunday, October 24, 2021, at Greencroft Healthcare.

She was born December 2, 1925 in Thurman, Colorado, to Joseph F. and Belva (Stutzman) Yoder.

She is survived by her sister, Erma Lou Yoder of Goshen.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by four siblings, Robert, Ray, Blanche and Vera; all four killed in the August 1924 Thurman Tornado.  The family later moved to Iowa in 1935.

Florence graduated from Wellman High School in 1943 and moved to the Goshen area in 1953 to attend Goshen College.   In 1963 she graduated from St. Joseph’s Holy Cross Central School of Nursing in South Bend.  She worked as an office manager for Dr. Carl Hostetler and then as an RN at Goshen Hospital from 1963 until her retirement in 1991.

She was a member of College Mennonite Church, where a memorial service will be held at a later date.

Burial will follow at Violett Cemetery.
