Florence V. Harness

Florence V. Harness, 89, of Goshen, died early Saturday morning, November 5, 2005, at Lakeland Rehabilitation Center, Milford, where she had been the past year.   She was born April 10, 1926, in Buckingham, Illinois, to Frank and Nellie (Reed) Oakes.  On December 25, 1938, in LaPorte, Indiana, she married E. Allen Harness.  He died March 14, 1992.   She was a 1934 graduate of Kingsbury High School, LaPorte County and a member of the First United Methodist Church, Goshen.  She was an avid fan of the Chicago White Sox and Indiana University.   She is survived by a son, Dan Harness of Goshen and a sister, Mary Lou Craft of Lafayette, Indiana.   She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Harness, three brothers, George, Frank and Paul Oakes and a sister, Charlene Snyder.   Friends will be received 4 to 7 pm, Tuesday, November 8 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church.   A 10:00 am funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2005, at the First United Methodist Church, Goshen, with Pam Kling officiating.   Burial will be in Violett Cemetery.   Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, Goshen.
