Fern Stutzman

Fern Stutzman, 60, of Elkhart, died Tuesday evening, September 5, 2006, at Elkhart General Hospital from a head injury due to a fall.  She was born in Benton, Indiana, on March 8, 1946, to the late Raymond and Polly (Yoder) Mast.  She married Bill Stutzman in Middlebury on June 26, 1965.  He survives.   Mrs. Stutzman, a homemaker, was a member of the Clinton Frame Mennonite Church where she volunteered with Visitation for Seniors and the children’s Sunday School programs.  She also volunteered with Meals on Wheels in Elkhart.  She was a member of Bent Oak Golf Course where she participated in the 9 Hole women’s golf league.   At one time, Mrs. Stutzman had worked for Oaklawn at Memorial High School as a facilitator for the “STOP” program.   She is survived by her husband, Bill; a daughter, Sheila (Michael) Terlep of Bristol; a son, Mike (Michele) Stutzman of Sarasota, Florida; five grandchildren; and four sisters, Doris (Dan Zook, Freda (James) Kohlmejer, Joan (Dan) Beechy, and Cindy (Derald) Bontrager, all of Middlebury.   She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Karen Bontrager.   Friends will be received 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., on Friday, September 8, at the Clinton Frame Mennonite Church.   A 10:00 a.m. funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, September 9, 2006, at the Clinton Frame Mennonite Church, 63846 CR 35, Goshen.  Pastors Terry Diener and Jeff Mumaw of Clinton Frame Mennonite Church will officiate.   Burial will be in Grace Lawn Cemetery, Middlebury.   Memorial contributions may be given to Clinton Frame Mennonite Church for the Family Life Center.
