Fern Evelyn Parks

Fern Evelyn Parks, 88, of Goshen, died early Friday morning, September 28, 2012, at Greencroft Healthcare. She was born October 2, 1923 in Coella, Illinois, to Charles and Flo (Wilson) Washer. She married David T. Parks, August 31, 1940 in Benton, Missouri. He died in 2001. She is survived by two daughters, Caryl A. Parks of Sarasota, Florida and Betty J. (George) Vasbinder of Goshen; a son, Russell L. (Bonnie) Parks of Goshen; seven grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Violet Schoen and a brother, Marvin O. Washer. A homemaker, Mrs. Parks moved to Goshen in 2002. She enjoyed reading and visiting with family and friends. Private services will be conducted in Akron, Ohio at a later date.
