Ferlin E. Yoder

Ferlin E. Yoder, 63, of Marlow, Oklahoma died Monday, Feb. 1, 2021 from Covid-19 and other complications.

He was born Dec. 18, 1957 in LaGrange to Clarence T. and Ideana (Miller) Yoder of Goshen.  He was a 1976 graduate of Fairfield High School and a 1978 graduate of DeVry University with a degree in electronics and technology.

Ferlin lived most of his life in Goshen.  He was a Disc Jockey on Sunday evenings at the Goshen College radio station playing Bluegrass music, and was actively involved in playing guitar with his family’s Bluegrass band.  He attended Goshen First United Methodist Church.  Ferlin then moved and worked in various states including Pennsylvania, Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma.  He loved to cook and worked as a chef in several facilities in Oklahoma and Louisiana.

Ferlin is survived by his parents and three siblings, Sharida Burkholder of Goshen; Doyle and wife, Susan (Chaffee) Yoder of Goshen and Sonya and husband, Tom Rutledge of Nashville, Tennessee; five nieces; two nephews; a great niece and a great nephew.

A private family service was held at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Diana Siegel, followed by burial at Brown Cemetery, Millersburg.
