Evelyn Gladys Glasson, of Goshen, completed her 95 year adventure June 28, 2019.
She started her journey December 8, 1923 in London, England with her parents, Edward and Gladys (Harrington) Illsley and two older brothers, Allen and Ted. She met her husband Charles Glasson during World War II when she served in the British army in the Cupid Calvary.
Eve married Charlie September13, 1944 and moved to the US, living in Nebraska and Goshen. They were married 61 years. They raised two children, Valerie (Hite) Frey and James Glasson.
She loved going out for coffee with friends, doing puzzles on her iPad, and watching the travel channel. She created delightful proper tea parties with family with her Royal Albert Old Country Roses china tea set. She was a master at playing cards and whipping up delicious meals.
She served as a volunteer in various roles at First Presbyterian Church in Goshen for 60 plus years.
Her positive attitude, sense of humor and interesting stories will be remembered by many. Her English accent and English phrases such as, ‘Everything in the garden is lovely.’ added zest to every conversation.
Eve is reunited with husband Charles Glasson, daughter Valerie Frey, and her brothers and parents.
Surviving is her son James (Elizabeth) Glasson, nine grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and a great-great grandchild.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date for family and close friends.
The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers, love and support through this journey in Eve Glasson's life.
