Evelyn Burtsfield

Evelyn Burtsfield, 84, of Goshen passed away Friday evening, March 18, 2016 at IU Health Goshen Hospital following an extended illness.

She was born July 3, 1931 in Elkhart County to Herbert and Grace (Musselman) Stroup.

On May 10, 1953 she married Don E. Burtsfield in Millersburg.  They enjoyed 62 wonderful years together.

He survives along with a daughter, Kathy (Brandon) Germano of Huntertown; a son, Tim (Greta) Burtsfield of Millersburg; nine grandchildren; Austin (Shelby) Burtsfield, Mariah Burtsfield, Geoff, Ashleigh and Joshua Shrout, Logan Davis, Mackenzie, Olivia and Kyle Germano; two great grandchildren, Luke and Megan Shrout; and two sisters, Katie Seely and Martha Rockenbaugh, both of Goshen.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Carlton Stroup.

A lifelong area resident, Evelyn was a 1949 graduate of Millersburg High School, and lifetime member of Zion Community Church.  She worked in the office at Penn Controls for three years along with a local finance company.

She enjoyed watching Notre Dame football and basketball, but her main love in life was her family.  She will be remembered as a wonderful loving wife, mom and grandmother.

Friends may call Tuesday, March 22, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and one hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. funeral service Wednesday, March 23, 2016 also at the funeral home.  Pastor Chris Howell will officiate.

Burial will follow at Brown Cemetery, Millersburg.
