Evaellen Korenstra

Evaellen "Till" Korenstra, 90, of Goshen, died Thursday evening, December 24, 2009, at Greencroft Healthcare where she had been a resident since September 20.  She had been in failing health the last three months. She was born in Cutler, Indiana, on September 21, 1919, to Jesse Zena and Leah Fay (Black) Campbell.  She married Charles Korenstra on June 3, 1939, in Goshen.  He preceded her in death on May 13, 1971. A homemaker, Mrs. Korenstra lived in this area most of her life.  She was a devoted wife and companion to her husband.  In her earlier years she was very active in the South Bend Christian Reformed Church where she was a charter member. She is survived by a sister, JoeAnn Coss of Goshen and a brother, Donald O. (Rose) Campbell of Elkhart. She was preceded in death by her husband; three sisters, Betty McCoy, Mary Miller and Marjorie Ann Hamood; and a brother, Robert Campbell. Friends may call 3 to 5 p.m.,  Monday, December 28, at the funeral home. Rev. Mark Roeda will officiate the 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 29, 2009, funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oakridge Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to Goshen Care at Home Hospice or United Cancer Services of Elkhart County.
