Eugene Martin McClish, 85, of Goshen, died Saturday afternoon, July 3, 2010, at Goshen General Hospital. He was born in Goshen on February 17, 1925, to the late Jacob and Icel (Fancil) McClish. He married Rosalie I. Papke on October 12, 1946 in Goshen. She died December 19, 2005. A longtime Goshen resident, he graduated from Goshen High School in 1943. He served in the US Navy during World War II and retired from Conn Selmer in 1989 after 25 years of service. He is survived by a daughter, Cinda (Steve) Jacob of Cromwell; two sons, Val (Robin) McClish of Syracuse and Vaughn McClish of Goshen; a son-in-law, Michael Hathaway of Goshen; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Hathaway in 2005; a grandson, Kevin Hathaway in 2006; and two sisters, Virginia Bowser and Doris Sapp. There will be no visitation. His body will be cremated. A 1:00 p.m., Thursday, July 8, 2010, memorial service will be held at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home with son-in-law, Steve Jacob officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to United Cancer Services of Elkhart County.
