She was born December 7, 1926 in Protection, Kansas to D.D. and Maggie (Kuhns) Miller.
On June 19, 1948 she married w. Dale Stutzman in Wissenbourg, France.
She is survived by her brother, D. Paul Miller of Normal, Illinois; her three children, Carmen Thompson of Mishawaka, Rose (Tim) Baldridge of Goshen, and Dexter (Cindi) Stutzman of Asheville, North Carolina; five grandchildren, Lindsey (Andrew) Stutzman Smith, Dylan (Jeni) Stutzman, Breanna (Mike) Sauerwein, Maggie Baldridge, Colin Baldridge; and two great grandchildren, Mollie and Beckett Sauerwein.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, W. Dale Stutzman, grandson Tyrel Baldridge, and siblings Ruth Willems, Dennis Miller, and Emerson Miller.
Ethel was a very loving and involved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
Ethel taught 3rd grade for 27 years, with 23 of these spent at Model School in Goshen.
Those who knew Ethel will remember her zest for life. Her continually evolving interests covered a wide spectrum, from art, music, gardening, and cooking, to giving Laura Ingalls Wilder programs and exploring family genealogy. Together with her husband Dale she enjoyed traveling and being involved at Amigo Centre.
Ethel's life was a reflection of her strong faith, love of family, and compassion for others. She will be greatly missed by all of us.
Friends may call Sunday, August 14, 2016 from 12 to 3 p.m. in the Gathering Room of College Mennonite Church. A 4 p.m. memorial service will follow at College Mennonite Church.
In accordance with Ethel's wishes, cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory.
Memorial contributions may be given to Amigo Centre, Sturgis, Michigan.
