Esther Marie Hartman, 104, of Goshen, died Thursday, April 4, 2024 at Greencroft Healthcare.
She was born March 28, 1920 in Elkhart County to Charles and Sadie (Kefarber) Snyder.
She is survived by three daughters, Sharon Erb, Benton, Pat Stahly, Goshen, and Margaret Wenger, Elkhart; a son, Don (Nancy) Metzler, Angola; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Titus Metzler in 1973; second husband, Dan Hostetler in 1998; third husband, Ira Hartman in 2017; and two brothers; Harold and Paul Snyder.
A 1938 New Paris High School graduate. Esther sold chickens and eggs at South Bend Farmer’s Market for over 30 years. She was a farm wife and mother. She enjoyed cooking for church meals and was famous for her pies and cookies. Florida was her favorite place to be during the winter months.
Visitation will Tuesday, April 9 from 3 to 7 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service at Yellow Creek Mennonite Church. Pastor Wes Bontrager will officiate.
Burial will follow at Yellow Creek Cemetery.
