Estella Elizabeth Butler, 70, of Goshen, died late Tuesday morning, March 10, 2009, at Goshen General Hospital where she had been a patient since March 6. She was born in Shipshewana on May 14, 1938, to William G. and Bessie Cathy (Hoover) Eash. She married Claude J. Butler on June 7, 1956. He survives. A longtime resident of Goshen, Mrs. Butler was a homemaker. She had worked at Goshen Stamping as a press operator for nine and a half years before retiring in 1984. She attended Middlebury High School and was Middlebury queen for three years, 1955-1958. She was a member of Maple City Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Claude; four daughters, Cynthia Lynn (Daniel) Scott and Melissa Louise Butler, both of Goshen, Claudette Diane (Thomas) McManus of Middlebury, and Charlotte Butler of Nappanee; two sons, Allen Lee (Maureen) Butler and Donald Harrison (Rose) Butler, both of Goshen; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Ruth Seidner of Millersburg, Wanda (Bill) Mickles of Topeka, and Kathy Kilmer of Goshen. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Phillip Butler on May 27, 1978. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, March12, and one hour prior to the service on Friday, at the funeral home. A 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 13, 2009, funeral service will be conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Rev. Don Simmons, of the Maple City Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be given to Maple City Baptist Church or to the American Heart Association.
