Ervin Miller, 88, of Elkhart, died Friday, Sept. 6, at Greenleaf Living Center, where he had been the last month.
He was born May 15, 1931 in Arthur, Illinois to Menno and Fanny (Beachy) Miller.
On Sept. 11, 1960 he married Marlene Kay Yoder at the North Main Street Mennonite Church, Nappanee.
She survives along with two children, Stuart Miller and Sherrill (Brian) Shinabarger, both of Elkhart; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, David (Martha Miller of Arthur, Illinois and a sister, Katie (Emmanuel) Troyer of Windsburg, Ohio.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by two infant siblings, Edward and Sarah Miller; six brothers, Stephen, Benjamin, Harvey, Jacob, Alvin and Albert Miller and a sister, Lizzie Marie Gingerich.
A carpenter, he worked for Willie’s Construction from 1959 to 2006.
Mr. Miller was a member of Sunnyside Mennonite Church and enjoyed making wooden games, especially those involving marbles.
Visitation will be Friday, September 13, 2019, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Sunnyside Mennonite Church, 23786 Sunnyside Ave., Elkhart, and one hour prior to the 10 a.m., Saturday, September 14, funeral service at the church. Pastors Charles and Teri Geiser will officiate.
Burial will follow in Yellow Creek Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be given to Sunnyside Mennonite Church or Concord Fire Department.
