Ernest “Ernie” J. Lehman, 89, of Goshen, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2024, at Greencroft Healthcare.

He was born December 20, 1934 in LaGrange County to Daniel and Fannie (Troyer) Lehman.

On April 23, 1993 he married Linda Lou Stingel in Goshen.

She survives along with two daughters, Beth (Derrick) Flint of Middlebury and Sheryl (Leroy) Kauffman of Burkesville, Kentucky; three sons, Brent (Jamie) Lehman of Goshen, Brian (Laura) Lehman of South Bend and Brad Lehman of Middlebury; two step-children, Tracy Goff of Rochester, New York and Nina (Bob) Goff of Middlebury; three grandchildren, Justin Lehman, Lauren Wallin and Sarah Lehman; six step-grandchildren, Daniel Goff, Nathan Yoder, Katelinn Yoder, Josh Grant, Cara Grant and Allison Yoder, three great-grandchildren, T.J. and Maggie Wallin and Samuel Lehman and two step-great-grandchildren, Alanah Yoder and Amelia Grant.  Also surviving are three sisters, Susie (Monroe) Yoder of Shipshewana, Katie Bontrager of Millersburg and Mary Miller of LaGrange; three sisters-in-law, Katie Lehman of LaGrange, Elizabeth Lehman of Goshen and Martha Lehman of LaGrange and two brothers, Noah Lehman of Middlebury and Daniel (Ada) Lehman of Shipshewana.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Jill Grant; a step-granddaughter, Ashley Goff and siblings, Ida Beachy, Elnora, Elva, Ervin, John, Mervin and Floyd Lehman.

A loving husband, father and grandfather, he attended Maple City Chapel. Ernie was an avid bowler and member of the Maple City Hall of Fame.  He enjoyed his local coffee group and Topeka Tuesdays.

He was a residential builder and later worked at the Mica Shop until his retirement at age 70.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 30, 2024,  from 12 to 4 and 5 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in Miller 8 Square Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be given to Maple City Chapel.
