Ernest Dwight Evans

Ernest D. Evans, 75, died Monday, July 28, 2025 at Goshen Hospital.

He was born July 30, 1949 in Elkhart County to Orville and Ruby (Sharp) Evans.

On June 20, 1970 he married Yvonne Preston. She preceded him in death.

Survivors include a daughter, Margarita Evans (fiancé, Eugene Troxell) Bice of Goshen; six grandchildren, Eric (Rhianon) Bice, Jr., Harry (Fernanda) Bice, Timothy (Chelle) Bice, Tiffany (Michael) Wise, Ashley (fiancé, Chuck Spradlin) Bice and Brooke Dennis;14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Myrtle (Ronald) Hershberger of Goshen and Judy Moser of Davidson, Michigan; and a brother, Harold Evans of Elkhart.

Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Elaine Evans; sisters, Phyllis Cole, Mary Thayer, and Carolyn Evans; and brothers, Orville, Robert “Bobby”, Randy and Clarence Evans.

Ernest was a hard worker. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, with Ryan Newman being his favorite driver.

A funeral service will be held Friday, August 1, 2025 at 1 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Visitation will begin one hour prior at noon.

Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery, Goshen.

Memorial gifts may be directed to the family to assist with final expenses.
