Ernest Chupp

Ernest Chupp 97, of Goshen died Monday night, January 28, 2013 at Greencroft Healthcare. He was born Nov. 29, 1915 in Elkhart County to Henry and Fannie (Weirick) Chupp. On January 15, 1939 he married Elsie Miller. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Delbert L. (Janice) Chupp, of Elkhart, Ron M. (MaryColette) Chupp, of Jim Thorpe, Pa.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Garber; four sisters, Susie Eash, Minnie Hostetler, Mary Hershberger, and Margaret Chupp; and a brother, Ora Chupp. Mr. Chupp spent most of his life in Elkhart County, owning and operating Chupp's Garage. As a member of Gideon's International, he volunteered his time in jail ministry in Goshen. Friends may call Friday, February 1, 2013, 11 am to 1 pm., at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, prior to the 1 pm funeral service. Pastor Brian Whidden of Calvary Assembly of God will officiate. Burial will follow at Prairie Street cemetery, Elkhart. Memorial contributions may be directed to Gideon's International.
