Erma Elva Yoder, 89, of Goshen, died Wednesday afternoon, December 28, 2005, at Greencroft. She was born January 31, 1916, in White Pigeon, Michigan, to D. Dallas and Montez M. (Evans) Sigler. On December 5, 1936, she married Harold A. Yoder in Benton. He survives. Mrs. Yoder was a homemaker. She was a member of First Mennonite Church, Middlebury. Mrs. Yoder was a 20 year Red Cross volunteer in local nursing homes and 30 years at Goshen General Hospital. She enjoyed writing poetry, some of which were published in national poetry books. She is survived by her husband, Harold, daughter, Miriam (Verl) Kauffman of Goshen; son, Glen (Sherry) Yoder of Warsaw and one grandchild. She is also survived by a brother, Earl Sigler of Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Dallas, Jr. and Forest Sigler and three sisters, Mildred Bowman, Helen Stutzman and Gladys Post. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, December 30, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and from 9 to 10 a.m., Saturday, at the church. A 10:00 a.m. funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2005, at First Mennonite Church, Middlebury. Rev. Linford Martin and Rev. Pamela Yoder of First Mennonite Church will officiate. Burial will be in Grace Lawn Cemetery, Middlebury. Memorial contributions may be made to donor’s choice.
