Erma M. Miller, 92, of Goshen, died Sunday morning, March 16, 2014, at Greencroft Healthcare Goshen. She was born September 6, 1921 in LaGrange County, to Mose and Barbara (Miller) Yoder. On February 1, 1941 she married John D. Miller in Elkhart. He died May 24, 1996. She is survived by four children, Glenda Sherk, of Goshen, Larry (Paula) Miller, of Tampa, Florida, Phyllis (Audrey Alderfer) Miller, and Diana Reed, both of Goshen; six grandchildren, John and Rachel Sherk, Ingrid Miller, Cassie and Michael Reed, and Andrew Miller; a great grandson, J.P. Sherk; a brother-in-law, Herman Miller and sister-in-law, Loretta Miller. She was preceded in death by a son, Gerald Ray Miller; a grandson, George Sherk; two sisters, Mattie Schmucker and Edith Yoder; and two brothers, Orva and Fora Yoder. Mrs. Miller was a lifelong area resident and homemaker, well known for her quilting and love of gardening. She also worked at Essenhaus Restaurant for 10 years and was a driver for the Amish in the community. She was a member of Brenneman Memorial Missionary Church. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2014 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 10 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2014, funeral service will take place. Rev. Harold Knight will officiate. Burial will follow at Miller 8 Square Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be directed to Goshen Home Care and Hospice.
