Erma J. Baker, 79, of Goshen, died Sunday afternoon, September 7, 2008, at her home after a two month illness. She was born in New Paris on March 1, 19129, to Clifford and Leona (Miller) Welty. She married Bob Baker. He preceded her in death August 1986. Mrs. Baker, a lifelong resident of the New Paris and Goshen area, worked for 27 years at Goshen Rubber before retiring in 1975 as an inspector. During her retirement she worked for T & M Rubber and Paragon Interiors. She was a member of the Goshen Moose, the Goshen DAV, the Goshen VFW Auxillary and a former member of the Goshen American Legion. She enjoyed bowling and was a member of the US Bowling Congress and the Wednesday morning coffee league. Friends will be received 1 to 3 p.m., Saturday, September 13, 2008, at the Goshen VFW. Private graveside services will be held in Violett Cemetery, Goshen, with Pastor Yvonne Riege of Goshen City Church of the Brethren officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kidney Foundation.
