Elva Miller, 88, of New Paris, passed away Sunday morning, December 21, 2014, at IU Health Goshen Hospital. She was born August 5, 1926 in Meyersdale, Pennsylvania to John and Tillie (Kinsinger) Zook. On August 3, 1957 she married Alvin E. Miller in Goshen. He died December 4, 2005. She is survived by a daughter, Nancy (Floyd) Bontrager of New Paris; three sons, Eldon (Audrey) Miller of Nappanee, Keith Miller and Ken (Sarie) Miller, both of New Paris; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Emma (Henry) Brenneman of Grantsville, Maryland; a brother, Simon (Verna) Zook of Goshen; and three sisters-in-law, Marie, Donna and Sara Zook. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a grandson, Kevin Miller; a great-granddaughter, Emily Kauffman; and five brothers, Noah, Henry, Bill, Ray and Paul Zook. Elva was a homemaker, and a member of Milford Chapel. Friends may call Monday, December 22, 2014 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral and on Tuesday, December 23 at Salem Mennonite Church one hour prior to the 11 a.m., funeral service. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery, New Paris. Memorial contributions may be made to Water for Life, Haiti or The Master's Handyman Service.
