Elsie Chupp

September 16, 1920 — January 23, 2014

Elsie Chupp, 93, of Goshen, died Thursday afternoon, January 23, 2014, at Greencroft Healthcare where she had been the past year. She was born September 16, 1920 in Bowne Township, Kent County, Michigan, to Frank and Ella (Shaffer) Miller. On January 15, 1939 she married Ernest Chupp. He died January 28, 2013. Survivors include two sons, Delbert L. (Janice) Chupp of Elkhart and Ron M. (Mary Colette) Chupp of Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania; four grandchildren; and several great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, Nancy L. Garber; a grandson, Sheldon Garber; four sisters, Lucy Wells, Elizabeth Gautsche, Beatrice Yoder and Goldie Frey; and two brothers, Roy and Harold Miller. A tour guide for Patchwork Quilt, Middlebury, Mrs. Chupp was a member of Calvary Assembly of God, Elkhart and Gideons. Friends may call from 11 a.m., until the 1 p.m., funeral service on Monday, January 27, 2014, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Pastor Brian Whidden, Calvary Assembly of God, will officiate. Burial will follow at Prairie Street Cemetery, Elkhart. Memorial contributions may be given to the Gideons International.
