Elnora Marie Phillips

Elnora Marie Phillips, 77, of South Bend and formerly of Goshen, died Sunday morning, April 28, 2013 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka. She was born December 6, 1935 in Anderson County, Kansas to John H. and Emma (Miller) Avers, Sr. She married Richard H. Phillips, February 18, 1956 in Goshen. He died January 27, 2005. She is survived by a daughter, Cheryl A. Wise of Mishawaka; a son, Michael A. Phillips of Elkhart; a grandson, Tim Farr; and a brother, Kenneth (Ruth) Avers of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Jeffrey Phillips, and three brothers, John H. Jr., Robert and Richard Avers. A lifetime area resident, Mrs. Phillips drove school bus for the Elkhart Community Schools for 18 years. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church. Friends may call 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where an 11 a.m., Thursday, May 2, 2013, funeral service will be held. Rev. Carl Henry, Northside Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery, Bristol.
