Elmo Ray Paff, 100, Council Bluffs, Iowa, died on June 21, 2017.
He was born in Goshen, Indiana, March 21, 1917 to Ina Anne Mehl and Vernon Ray Paff, the second of two sons.
Elmo graduated from DePauw University in 1939. In 1942, he graduated from Chicago Theological Seminary and was ordained to the Christian ministry on October 25, 1942 at Plymouth United Church of Christ, Goshen. During his career, he served churches in Indiana, South Dakota, Michigan, Ohio, Minnesota, Kansas, Missouri, and Wisconsin.
On March 15, 1941, he married Frances Mildred Gavin, and together they raised six children.
He is survived by five children, Toby (Nancy); Rachel (Kent); Lois (Erland); Tony (Aurora); and Brad; a daughter-in-law, Lynne (Steve); eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Richard (Margaret); a son, Lester; a grandson, Rueben; and his wife of close to seventy years, Frances.
Visitation with family begins Saturday, July 8 at 9 a.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at 10 a.m. at Violett Cemetery.
