Elmer G. Cross, 73, of Topeka, died early Monday morning, March 24, 2014 at his home. He was born January 2, 1941, in LaGrange County to Enos and Mattie (Yoder) Cross. Mr. Cross was married to Clara Delagrange in 1959, and Rhonda Clawson in 1984. He is survived by his ex-wives, Clara and current companion Rhonda; five daughters, Julie (John) Stout, of Syracuse, Charlotte (Chuck) Sanders, of Port Charlotte, Florida, Twila (Bob) Hughes, of Nappanee, Glenda Coney, of Topeka and Amanda Cross, of Indianapolis; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a sister, Anna (Irvin) Yoder and three brothers, Vernon (Arlene), Leroy (Esther) and Joe (Alpha) all of Goshen. He was preceded in death by his parents and step-mother, Sarah Ann Cross; a son, Wilbur "Willie"; a granddaughter, Jennifer Zentz; three sisters, Rosa Borntrager, Fannie Cross and Mary Schrock; and two brothers, Daniel and George Cross. Elmer was a truck driver for Star-Craft and worked maintenance for Supreme Corp. He loved music and enjoyed dancing and singing. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where an 11 am Thursday, March 27, 2014 funeral service will be held. Rev. Gary Miller of Maple City Chapel will officiate. Burial will follow at South Union cemetery, Nappanee. Memorial gifts may be directed to the family c/o Yoder-Culp Funeral Home to assist with expenses.
