Ellis Dale Mast, 73, of Goshen, passed away Friday morning, June 28, 2013, at Elkhart General Hospital after suffering a heart attack on June 22. He was born February 14, 1940 in Holmes County, Ohio to Paul and Beulah (Miller) Mast. He married Ann Smucker June 19, 1965 in West Liberty, Ohio. She survives along with two daughters, Michele (Mike) Stutzman of Sarasota, Florida, and Angela (Joel) Miller of Middlebury; five grandchildren, Bryce, Dustin and Mariah Miller and Jackson and Jessica Stutzman; and two sisters, Carolyn (Harold) Schultz of Kansas City, Missouri, and Julia (Colin) Mishler, Berlin, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John. A 1962 graduate of Goshen College, Mr. Mast taught at Adriel School, West Liberty, for a couple of years. He taught physical education in the Westview School Corporation from 1965 until retiring in 1999. A member of Clinton Frame Mennonite Church, he was very involved with Amigo Centre serving on their board and helping with fundraising. He was also a longtime member of Maplecrest Country Club. Friends may call 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 30, 2013 at Clinton Frame Mennonite Church, C.R. 35, Goshen. A 6:30 p.m., Monday, July 1, 2013, memorial service to be conducted at the church. Pastors Terry Diener and Danny Yoder will officiate. A private family burial will precede the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Amigo Centre Scholarship Fund for St. Joe Week or to the Brotherhood Fund at Clinton Frame Mennonite Church. Yoder-Culp Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
