Ellen Marie Swihart

Ellen Marie Swihart, 92, of Goshen passed away Sunday, December 24, at Greencroft Healthcare.

She was born July 1, 1931 in Washington D.C. to Harry and Evelyn (Butler) Russell.

On April 3, 1953 she married Ray Swihart at the Rock Run Church of the Brethren.

Survivors include four daughters, Linda Swihart of West Lafayette, Carol Caviness of Bristol, Sally Miller of Syracuse and Susan Wilson of Indianapolis; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and a brother, Ralph (Jill) Russell of Minnesota.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by daughter, Nancy Swihart; granddaughter, Diana Spencer; great-granddaughter, Lalany and brother, Chuck Russell.

A longtime member of the Rock Run Church of the Brethren, Mrs. Swihart taught 3rd grade in the Westview School System.  Since her retirement, she has spent time doing volunteer work and traveling.

Visitation will be Friday, December 29, from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service at the Rock Run Church of the Brethren, 64985 C.R. 33, Goshen, 46528.  Pastor John Schrock will officiate.

Burial will follow in Rock Run Cemetery.
