Ellen M. Hartzler

Ellen M. Hartzler, 91, of Goshen, died early Tuesday morning, May 15, 2007, at UPMC North Hills Passaucent Hospital in Pittsburg.   She was born in Goshen on February 9, 1916, to Levi Cornelius and Beulah (Peffley) VanderReyden.  On August 14, 1938, she married Donavon D. Hartzler in Goshen.  He survives.   A 1934 Goshen High School graduate, a homemaker and a lifelong resident of Goshen, Mrs. Hartzler was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.   She is survived by her husband, Donavon; two sons, David L. Hartzler of Tucson, Arizona and Philip C. Hartzler of Wexford, Pennsylvania; two grandsons; and a sister, Norma Jean (Dallas) Zentz of Goshen.   She was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Harold and Cal VanderReyden.   Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, May 18, at the funeral home.   A 9:00 a.m., Saturday, May 19, 2007, funeral service will be held at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  Pastor Alan Griffin of the First Presbyterian Church will officiate.   Burial will be in Elkhart Prairie Cemetery, Goshen.   Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Goshen.
