Ella L. Deboard

Ella L. DeBoard, 84, of Goshen died early Wednesday morning, May 30, 1007, at her home.   She was born in Ronda, West Virginia, on January 1, 1923, to George and Minnie (Jarrett) Payne.  On March 29, 1942, she married Gerald DeBoard in Charleston, West Virginia.  He died in 1984.   A Goshen resident since 1977, Mrs. DeBoard worked at Churn and Ladder for 15 years.  She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Goshen.   She is survived by two daughters, Betty Wilson of Indiana and Lois Slaton of Farmersville, Louisiana; two sons, Jerry (Jean) DeBoard of Goshen and Dana DeBoard of Victoria, Virginia; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.  Also surviving is a sister, Mary (Dewey) Schmidt of Miami, West Virginia and a brother, Howard Payne of Belle, West Virginia.   She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald; a son, Kenneth DeBoard in 1984; four sisters, Myrtle Taylor, Mabel McCowen, Beulah and Lula Payne; and six brothers, Luther, Henry, Leonard, Tommy, Robert and Gordon Payne.   Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, May 31, at the funeral home.   A 1:30 p.m., Friday, June 1, 2007, funeral service will be held at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  Rev. Scott Carper of the First Assembly of God, Goshen, will officiate.   Burial will be in Oakridge Cemetery, Goshen.   Memorial contributions may be made to the First Assembly of God Church, Goshen.
