Elizabeth V. Gautsche, 80 of Elkhart, left the halls of the Maples and entered the streets of glory Monday, December 29, 2008. She was born to Frank and Ella (Shaffer) Miller on November 23, 1928 in Honeyville, LaGrange County, Indiana. She married Myrl W. Gautsche in Elkhart on October 7, 1950. He survives. Mrs. Gautsche worked for Elkhart Community Schools in Cafeterias four teen years until 1976 and also at CTS in Elkhart. She attended Calvary Assembly of God, taught Sunday School and Bible School; was part of Oaklawn Auxiliary. She attended Elkhart High School and she was a master in knowing how to love people. She is survived by two daughters, Bonnie Logan of Elkhart and Cheryl (Gary) Barnard of Middlebury; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Elsie (Ernest) Chupp of Goshen; Treva (Herbert) Swarm of Middlebury and Joan (Bob) Bouterse of Largo, Florida. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Lucy Wells, Beatrice Yoder and Goldie Frey; and two brothers, Roy and Harold Miller. Friends may call from 1 to 5 p.m., Sunday, January 4, 2009 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 5, 2009 funeral service will be conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Rev. Jerry Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Prairie Street Cemetery, Elkhart.
