Elizabeth A. “Betsy” Troyer, 83, of Goshen died Monday, October 2, 2017 at Greencroft Healthcare, Goshen.
She was born May 26, 1934 in Goshen to Clemens and Anna (Hershberger) Yoder.
On January 14, 1956 she married Samuel Troyer at Goshen City Church of the Brethren, Goshen.
He survives along with a daughter, Sandi (Craig) Clark of Middlebury; two sons, Tony (Esther) Troyer of Bay City, Oregon and Mark (Deb) Troyer of Findlay, Ohio; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Martha Byler of Spartansburg, Pennsylvania, Edna (Phil) Hoffman of Deming, New Mexico and Sue (Don) Stutzman of Goshen.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by two sons, Samuel and Phillip Troyer, two brothers, Eli and William Yoder, and a sister, Katie Miller.
A Goshen resident since 2003, Betsy was a member of College Mennonite Church where she was active in the Homebuilders Sunday School class. She was a loving homemaker, worked as a nursing aide for many years, and was an avid doily maker and quilter.
Friends may call Friday, October 6, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen. A Celebration of Life service will be at 12 noon, Saturday, October 7, 2017, at First Mennonite Church, 203 E. Lawrence, Middlebury. Pastors Ron Kennel and Pamela Yoder, College Mennonite Church will officiate.
A family burial will take place at Locust Grove Mennonite Church Cemetery, Burr Oak, Michigan.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Mennonite Central Committee or RETA.
