Elfrieda Wegener

Elfrieda Wegener, 85, of Goshen, died Monday morning, December 8, 2008, at Greencroft Healthcare. She was born October 21, 1923 in Pohlfelds, East Prussia to Wilhelm and Amelia Komm.  She married Wilhelm Wegener on March 18, 1947 in Jesteburg, Germany.  He survives. A homemaker, Mrs. Wegener has lived in Goshen the past 51 years.  She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Goshen.  She is survived by her husband, Wilhelm; a son, Heinz Wegener of Cumming, Georgia; four grandchildren, Scott (Jessica) Wegener, Quinn (Sarah) Wegener, Heinz (Mariana) Wegener and Jessica (Kenny) Kling; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Dieter Wegener; two brothers; and six sisters. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, December 11, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. An 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 12, 2008, funeral service will be conducted at Trinity Lutheran Church, Goshen.  Pastor John Hickey will officiate. Burial will be in Miller Cemetery, Goshen.
