Eleanor J. Ulery died March 3, 2011 at Greencroft Healthcare, Goshen She was born in Goshen Oct. 15, 1918, to J. Wesley and Wilma (Artley) Yoder; A lifetime resident of Goshen, she graduated from Goshen High School in 1936, and Ft. Wayne International Business College. On April 10, 1939 she married Robert W. Ulery. He died Jan. 31, 2009. She had worked for the law office of Mehl & Mehl; as her children grew, she worked with Ulery family members at the Bagology Grocery, then as abstracter for Mehl & Mehl, and in 1963 went to work for the law office of Pepple, Yoder and Ainlay (later Yoder, Ainlay, Ulmer, and Buckingham) until 1997. A violinist in her youth, she took up the instrument again in the 1950s with the Goshen Civic Theater; she was a founding member of the Lyric Choir, and later sang with the Goshen Community Chorus. A faithful member of First English Lutheran Church, she gave service as choir director and volunteer at Good Shepherd Nursery School. She was also a member of Bible Study Fellowship and Psi Iota Xi sorority. Survived by her sister, Doris Nicholson of Rochester, N.Y. and Hancock Mass.; two children, Pamela (Daniel) Barney of Carlisle, Penn. and Robert Jr. of Winston-Salem, N.C.; two grandchildren, Scott Barney of San Francisco, Calif. and Elizabeth Pultorak of Wexford, Penn.; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Robert. Visitation will be on 6-8 pm Monday at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the funeral service on Tuesday at 10 am at First English Lutheran Church, Goshen. Burial will be at Violett Cemetery, Goshen. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First English Lutheran Church.
