Eldon Lee Yoder, 66, of Goshen, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 7, 2016, following a brief illness, at home with his wife by his side, to be with his Lord and Heavenly family. Eldon left us too soon and will be greatly missed by those who love him.
He was born October 3, 1949 in Goshen to Henry N. and Mary J. (Yoder) Yoder.
On May 2, 2001 he married Mary (Shaffer) Lambdin in Goshen.
She survives along with five step-children, Tamara (David) Unrue of Goshen, Tina (Mike Titus) Kingsbury, Tricia (Michael) Reddy and Teri (Eric) Sowders, all of Elkhart and Timothy D. (Mardi) Lambdin of Goshen; 12 step-grandchildren; a step-great-grandson; and three brothers, Daryl R. (Lou) Yoder of Elkhart, Dennis L. (Cheryl) Yoder of Apache Junction, Arizona and Wayne D. Yoder of Baynard, New Mexico.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Marvin J. Yoder.
A 1968 graduate of Westview High School, Eldon was a member of the New Paris Church of the Nazarene. He was an avid reader, collected owls, loved Southern Gospel music and enjoyed travel. His family, especially the grandchildren, was number one with him.
He retired in November 2015 from Kauffman’s/Best Food Mart after 36 years of service.
Friends may call Wednesday, May 11, 2016,from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and one hour prior to the 10 a.m. funeral service on Thursday, May 12, 2016, at New Paris Church of the Nazarene. Rev. Don Meiner, former pastor of New Paris Church of the Nazarene, will officiate.
Burial will follow in Solomon Creek Cemetery, Syracuse.
Memorial contributions may be given to New Paris Church of the Nazarene or Goshen Home Care and Hospice.
