Eldon Bontrager, 78, of Goshen, died Sunday, April 7, 2019, at Goshen Hospital.
He was born July 26, 1940 in LaGrange to Ora JK and Katie (Fry) Bontrager.
Survivors include three sons, Jason (Rose Mary) of Guatemala, Myron (Mary) of Taylorsville, Mississippi and Glendon of Columbus, Mississippi; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and his wife, Thelma of Macon, Mississippi.
He is also survived by eight brothers, Ellis (Ruby) of Bristol, Elvie (Ruby) of Goshen, Allen of Phoenix, Arizona, Elroy (Michelle) of Goshen, Albert (Patty) of Wakarusa, Verlo (Linda) and Cletus (Brenda), both of LaGrange, and Marlin (Brenda) of Ashley; and five sisters, Ada Schrock of Bemidji, Minnesota, Mary Colwell of Brandon, Mississippi, Ola Cosby of Goshen, Bessie Lehman of Duncan, South Carolina and Velma (Jim) Larimer of Fairview, Michigan.
Eldon had a lifetime occupation of skilled cabinet making. He designed and detailed kitchens without the help of computers. He was a generous man, almost to a fault. He read the Bible faithfully and enjoyed biblical history. A talented singer, he enjoyed putting music to words. He was especially proud of his grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 10, 2019, from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service at Siloam Fellowship, 61616 C.R. 35, Goshen. Pastors Vern Hostetler and Dale Ropp will officiate.
Pastor Phillip Knepp will officiate the graveside service at Hawpatch Cemetery, Topeka, following the funeral.
