Elaine S. Yoder, 87, of Elkhart, died early Wednesday morning, November 16, 2005, at Elkhart General Hospital where she had been a patient since Sunday. She was born June 29, 1918, in Goshen, to John and Olive (Nafziger) Plank. On October 7, 1939, at Eighth Street Mennonite Church, she married Mark E. Yoder. He survives. Mrs. Yoder was a homemaker and had worked for her father, John Plank, and her husband, Mark Yoder, at Goshen Stamping and Tool. She was a member of the First United Church of Christ, Goshen. She graduated from Goshen High School in 1936, attended Goshen College and graduated in 1939 from the International Business College, Fort Wayne, Indiana. She is survived by her husband, Mark Yoder, two daughters, Roberta (James) Von Itter of Anthony, Kansas and Ginger Peich of Elkhart, five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, John M. Yoder in 1966 and two sisters, Virginia Plank and Clara Marie Osborn. There will be no visitation. A private family graveside service will be held. Burial will be in Violett Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Elkhart County Humane Society
