Elaine Smith

Elaine Smith, 61, of New Paris, died unexpectedly at her home Saturday, June 29, 2019.

She was born July 27, 1957 in Detroit, Michigan, to Paul Nickolas Pernokis and Helen Jean (Caudill) Flanigan.

On July 7, 2007 she married Tim Smith in Wakarusa.

He survives along with a son, Charles Levi Gregory of New Paris, a granddaughter, Kelsey Gregory and two brothers, Phillip (Kristi) Pernokis of Elkhart and Paul Pernokis of Elkhart County.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Nickolas Pernokis.

A family-oriented woman, she loved her granddaughter and helping people.

Elaine worked at Veada in upholstery for more than 10 years.

Cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory.
