Elaine E. Jarrett

July 17, 1943 — November 8, 2015

Elaine E. Jarrett, 72, of Goshen, passed away Sunday afternoon, November 8, 2015, at her home after a five year battle with cancer. She was born July 17, 1943 in Emmetsburg, Iowa to Carl and Edna Mae (Stover) Runneburg. On July 8, 1963 she married Norman D. Jarrett in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He died June 20, 1995. She is survived by two children, Scott (Janel) Jarrett and Vicki (James) Roeder, both of Goshen; six grandchildren, Hunter and Hadyn Rivera, Alyssa (Jarrett) Fisher, Leslie Jarrett and Andrew and Megan Roeder; and four siblings, Jerry (Mary) Runneberg of Laurens, Iowa, Eileen (Edwin) Burkmire of Elkhart, Luverne (Janet) Runneberg of Everly, Iowa and Sheryl Runneberg of Spencer, Iowa. Elaine grew up on a farm in Laurens, Iowa and as a high school student played basketball and softball. She and her husband owned and operated several restaurants in Goshen. Friends may call Thursday, November 12, 2015, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 10 a.m. funeral service will be conducted on Friday, November 13, 2015. Pastor Jim Brown, Grace Community Church, will officiate. Burial will follow at Violett Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Goshen Home Care and Hospice.
