Elaine L. Darr

Elaine L. Darr, 88, of Goshen, died early Monday morning, August 27, 2012, at Greencroft Healthcare. She was born January 21, 1924 in Mishawaka. She married Marion "Tim" Darr April 10, 1943 in Washington D.C. He survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Carla Darr of Elkhart and Diane Darr of South Bend. She was preceded in death by her father, Chancey Coy; her mother and step-father, Zella (Bowser) and Roy Sarjent; and two brothers, Harry and Marshall Coy. After graduating from high school, Mrs. Darr worked at Penn Electric and then, for many years, in the cafeteria at Syracuse Elementary School until her retirement. She was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church, Syracuse, American Legion Auxiliary Post #223 and Twilight Bunco Club. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, August 30, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 10 a.m., Friday, August 31, 2012, funeral service will be conducted. Greencroft Chaplain Vanette Kashmer will officiate. Burial will follow in Syracuse Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation of Indiana.
