Edwin E. Koher, 94, of Goshen, died late Wednesday evening, May 28, 2014, at Greencroft Health Care where he was admitted in March following the diagnosis of a blood disorder. He was born Oct. 22, 1919, in North Webster to John L. and Lillian M. (Gerard) Koher. On June 27, 1941 he married Dorothy E. Calbeck in Cromwell. She died Nov. 24, 2010. He is survived by a son, Clayton G. (Pam) Koher of Goshen and two grandchildren, Renee K. Koher of Skagway, Alaska and Ryan G. Koher of LaGrange, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and a brother, Woody G. Koher. A lifetime area resident, Mr. Koher was vice-president and manager of New Paris Lumber Company. He served four years with the U.S. Army in the European Theater during World War II. A longtime member of First United Methodist Church, he was also a member of the Ligonier American Legion Post 243, the Valley of Ft. Wayne Scottish Rite and Masonic Lodge # 705, Cromwell. He was also a member of the Caring Club at Goshen Hospital. Friends may call from 1 until the 3:30 p.m., Masonic Service on Sunday, June 1, 2014, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 2, 2014, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home officiated by Pastoral Assistant Pamela Kling. Entombment will follow at Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be given to First United Methodist Church, Goshen, American Legion, Ligonier or Masonic Lodge, Cromwell.
