Edward L. Rink, Jr.

Edward L. Rink, Jr., 83, of Goshen, died Sunday morning, July 13, 2008, at his daughter’s home where he had been living since October 2007. Mr. Rink was born in Goshen on December 11, 1924, to Edward and Lilly (Draughon) Rink.  He married Beulah Pearson on May 5, 1945, in Goshen.  She died October 11, 1991. A truck driver, Mr. Rink retired from the Elkhart County Highway Department after more than 31 years.  He had also worked for Sailor Manufacturing for ten years.  He was a member of the American Legion.  He enjoyed fishing. He is survived by a daughter, Janice (Mark) Yates of Elkhart; a son, Wayne E. (Corliss) Rink of Rapid City, South Dakota; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; his companion, Mary High of Decatur, Michigan; and a sister-in-law, Beverly Rink of Decatur, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his wife; a son, Gary Rink, Sr.; and a brother, Guy Rink. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, July 15, at the funeral home. A Wednesday, July 16, 2008, funeral service will begin at 10:00a.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  Rev. Alan Cassel will officiate. The body will be cremated after the funeral service. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice.
