Edward Brookmyer                                                                                         Edward Brookmyer, 88, of Goshen, died Friday, March 24, 2006, at his home.  He was born June 21, 1917, in Goshen to Edward L. and Romaine (Rohrer) Brookmyer. He married Donita M. Hartzler on April 20, 1941.    Mr. Brookmyer started Brookmyer Accountancy in 1946 and worked there until he retired in 1985. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and attended Indiana University in Bloomington. Mr. Brookmyer worked for (CPS) Civilian Public Service from 1942-1945, was first Secretary/Treasurer of Mennonite Relief Sale from 1968-1973, and was a charter member and first president of Elkhart County Exchange Club. He also co-organized the former Menno Singers.    He is survived by one son, Jon (Jane) Brookmyer of Syracuse;  three daughters, Dr. Sally (William) Hammitt of Central S.C., Alice (David) Brenneman of Elkhart, and Nedra Steury of Bluffton, IN; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.    Mr. Brookmyer is preceded in death by his wife and parents.    Friends may call Monday, March 27, 2006 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.    A 9:30 a.m. prayer service for family and friends will take place at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home with burial to follow. An 11 a.m. memorial service will take place Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at First United Methodist Church in Goshen.    Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Goshen.    Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, Bluffton College, or Goshen College.
