Edna M. Marcum

Edna M. Marcum, 68, of Goshen, died Friday afternoon, May 12, 2006, at Goshen General Hospital.  She had been ill since February 23 with cancer. She was born March 11, 1938, in Queens, New York, to Russell and Edna (Harney) Gamsby.  She had lived in the Goshen area since 1990. Mrs. Marcum worked in production at Singer Controls, North Manchester for 25 years.  She also cooked for the DAV and the VFW. She was a member of the United Auto Workers and served as the union stewardess.  She also belonged to the Goshen and North Manchester Moose Lodge; and was a lifetime member of the DAV #15 and the VFW #985 auxilllaries. Mrs. Marcum is survived by five daughters, Susan Ann LaShure, Robin Diann LaShure and Tracie Lyne (Randy) Fisher, all of Goshen, Dawn Marie LaShure of Brooksville, Florida and Trina Jo Butcher of Wabash, Indiana; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.  Also surviving is a sister, Barbara Porter of North Manchester, Indiana and two brothers, Russell (Marilyn) Gamsby of Silver Lake, Indiana and Robert (Sally) Gamsby of North Manchester, Indiana. She was preceded in death by a duaghter, Tammie Lyne LaShure in 1959 and a son, Robert  Eugene LaShure in 1974; a borther, Ralph Gamsby and a sister, Mary Ann Cox. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 Wednesday, May 17, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A 10:00 a.m. funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2006, at the funeral home.  Sam Muncy, retired State DAV Chaplain will conduct the funeral service and Rev. J.P. Freeman will have the committal service in North Manchester. Family and friends will meet at Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester for a 2:00 p.m. burial and committal service. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Cancer Services.
