Edna V. Eash, 94, of Goshen, died Saturday afternoon, May 23, 2009, at Greencroft Gables, Goshen. She was born in Commins, Michigan, on August 21, 1914, to Menno and Margaret (Gsell) Steiner. She married Leon Eash on August 4, 1935 in Fairview, Michigan. He died February 23, 1992. A longtime resident of the area, Mrs. Eash was a member of Pleasant View Mennonite Church. She retired from Penn Controls in 1970. From 1970 to 1990 Mrs. Eash and her husband lived in Carlsbad, New Mexico. She enjoyed painting and quilting and had made about 50 quilts for Indiana's former first lady, Mrs. Otis Bowen and her friends. She also made a unique quilt made up entirely of men's neck ties that was sold at the Mennonite Relief Sale. She is survived by four sons, Norval (Louise) Eash of Bulls Gap, Tennessee, Melvin (Mary Ann) Eash of Goshen, LeRoy "Wink" (Diana) Eash of Tampa, Florida, and Mervin Eash of Fort Wayne; 21 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Lloyd Steiner of Sturgis, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her husband; five sisters and three brothers. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 27, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church. A 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 28, 2009, funeral service will be conducted at Pleasant View Mennonite Church, Goshen. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be given to Pleasant View Mennonite Church.
