Edna Zoe Birch, 81, of Goshen, died Wednesday, November 28, 2012, at IU Health Goshen Hospital. She was born November 27, 1931 in Elkhart to Floyd E. and Vera C. (Hicks) Haslett. She is survived by two daughters, Cathy (Fred) Ratcliff and Linda Wertman, both of Goshen; a son, Michael (Crystal) Birch of Ligonier; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; a sister, Rose Marie Haslett of Michigan; and a brother, Tommy Haslett of San Antonio, Texas. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Vernon A. Kaehr and Richard E. Haslett; and a grandson, Gary Daniel Ratcliff. A lifetime area resident, she worked for Kidd & Son, Ligonier for about 8 years. She then worked as an inspector at Starcraft, Topeka for 15 years, retiring in 1990. She was a member of the Ligonier American Legion. Friends may call on Sunday, December 2, 2012, from 1 until the 3 p.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Rev. John Lowe, New Life Christian Church, Warsaw, will officiate. A family burial will take place on Monday, December 3, 2012, at Sparta Cemetery, Kimmell. Memorial contributions may be made to Fred and Cathy Ratcliff.
