Edna Lou Adams, 97, of Goshen died Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at her home surrounded by family.

She was born April 1, 1928 in Niles, Michigan, the seventh of twelve children.

Survivors include three sons, Dennis Rutkowske of Goshen, Randy Rutkowske of Apex, North Carolina and Mark Rutkowske of South Bend; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death was her father, Henry Kwast; mother, Inez (Squire) Golf; first husband, Henry C. Rutkowske; second husband, Dale L. Adams; 11 siblings; and a great-grandchild.

Edna loved God and was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Churches of South Bend and Elkhart. She loved her family dearly and always had a smile on her face. She held a soft spot in her heart for all animals.

Edna worked as a nurse’s aide for various hospitals and home healthcare providers, always bringing joy to her patients.

According to her wishes cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory. A memorial service will be held Sunday, November 2, 2025 at 1 p.m. at South Bend First Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1936 Altgeld St., South Bend.
